The beginning of this book was mostly a back story dump disguised as an apartment search. I prefer more showing than telling especially in the first 30 pages. At times telling is appropriate but you really have to earn that with me. I also just couldn’t get past the sexist idea that a woman would move in with a rich man to clean his house and care for his dog while she has her own teaching career to think of. It rubbed me wrong.
